2019 White Oak Bayou Fish-Off

The White Oak Bayou Associatio (WOBA) will hold its annual “Fish-Off” contest on May 18, 2019 in partnership with the Friends of Woodland Park’s Happy Trails and Hot Dogs Day.

Trophies will be awarded to “Little Anglers” (children 12 or under) and “Big Anglers” (anyone 13 and over) for the Biggest, Ugliest and Most Unusual fish caught on May 18th in White Oak Bayou or one of its tributaries. In-person registration begins at 8 a.m. at the WOBA tent at Woodland Park (persons who register online only need to bring their signed liability waiver. Weigh-in and judging will begin at 11 p.m. with judging announcements at 12:30 p.m. In addition to the fishing, trophies will be awarded for the best Fish Lips, and best “one that got away” story.

 The Friends of Woodland Park will grill and provide hot dogs, chips and root beer floats staring at 11:00 a.m. Activities include games and activires for kids, including the always-popular Bayou City Play’s pop-up playground, and guided nature tours by a Texas Master Naturalist

 Fishing contest is a suggested $5 per family/group donation, or free with a $10 a White Oak Bayou Association annual membership. Trail tours, activities/games and refreshments are Free. Fish-off registration is available online and includes a copy of the liability waiver and contest rules

 All fishing participants must abide by the Texas Fish and Wildlife rules and provide their own fishing gear and bait. Participants 17 years and older can purchase a one-day fishing license online at: https://www.txfgsales.com/CustomerSearch.aspx
