Known as one of the oldest open-aired markets in Texas, the First Monday Trade Days is steeped in tradition as a monthly event. In the mid-1800s, local farmers, ranchers, and merchants would buy, sell or trade their livestock, handmade items, produce, and other supplies to large crowds during the monthly legal trials at the courthouse. Initially, this event was known to all as a monthly “Stray Day” sale which has now evolved into a market event offering traditional selling opportunities for vendors to showcase their items coupled with innovative attractions to interest visitors.

With a history of buying, selling, and trading for over 155 years, you can find almost anything at First Monday Trade Days. Browse the various vendor spots in this outdoor venue to find unique gifts, plants, farm and ranch items, antiques, pet supplies, jewelry, second-hand bargains, ironworks, crafts, pottery, furniture, collectibles, artwork, tools, along with great festival food.

Located in the heart of the historical district, adjacent to the local farmer’s market with convenient parking on Santa Fe Drive, the First Monday Trade Days event is still growing and on a consistent basis has been recognized as one of the most popular tourist attractions in the City of Weatherford has to offer visitors.

New things are happening at the Weatherford First Monday Trade Days. Larger spaces, the return of livestock sales at the market, new facilities, and a general upgrade of the grounds are all on the agenda. Old traditions are still with us, just a new look with attractions and fun activities to do while looking for that ‘special’ something!

The First Monday grounds are open to the public from 9 am to 4 pm each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before the First Monday each month throughout the year. Come by and be part of the festivities. We at Weatherford First Monday Trade Day’s want to make sure that our visitors have a wonderful experience! We are following the Texas State Governor’s Guidelines very closely and taking extra precautions to help against the spread of COVID-19. All staff, vendors and shoppers please be mindful, we all need to do our part to help make this event safe and fun!

What we will do:
Provide extra hand sanitizing stations
Train staff to follow protocol and disinfect restrooms and common areas
Post social distancing signage

What we would like shoppers to do:
Have hand sanitizer with you and use it before and after touching any surfaces
Wash hands frequently
Practice 6 feet social distancing (please be kind and patient)
Consider wearing CDC recommended protective equipment (masks/gloves)
Please use common sense and keep our at-risk population in mind

What we would like vendors to do:
Provide hand sanitizer for yourself and shoppers
Wash hands frequently
Consider contactless or minimum contact payment options
Consider wearing CDC recommended protective equipment (masks/gloves)
Monitor your booth access so shoppers practice 6 feet social distancing. If you have multiple aisles, make them one way.
Sanitize surfaces frequently!
