“Avant-garde” means to be innovative, to push the boundaries of what is accepted and to explore new possibilities in the artistic world. This is what was kept in mind when, Founder and CEO, Myeshia Brown, created the Avant-garde Home brand from her kitchen in 2014.

Inspired by a divine revelation to turn a love for candles and home decor into a home brand, Myeshia began researching the candle market and testing variations of wax, wicks, and fragrance combinations. For over 20 months, Myeshia put hours into creating the formula that would become the golden recipe for the Avant-garde Home candle and oil line. It was important for Myeshia to not simply “create another candle company” but to create an Avant-garde fragrance experience with every light of the wooden wick. With consistent prayer, a vision, and determination to create a luxe lifestyle home brand, Myeshia was able to officially launch the Avant-garde Home online store in January of 2016.

Over the course of 3 years, and counting, Myeshia has expanded the Avant-garde Home brand to include the most unique fragrances with a unique wood crackling wick to heighten relaxation. In addition to the highly fragrant luxe candles, the Avant-garde Home brand encompasses our signature Home Perfume Oils, candle accessories, and a pillow cover collection to enhance the uniqueness of each home.

Today, Avant-garde Home has become a favorite of many Houstonians and people in the United States. Avant-garde Home has been supported by actress and philanthropist, Wendy Raquel Robinson, actress Yvonne Orji, singer Monica Brown, and Slomique Hawrylo of WeTV David Tutera’s Celebrations. Avant-garde Home has also been a proud sponsor to non-profit organizations that benefit the youth which include Girls with Gifts Inc. and The Amazing Grace Conservatory.
